Cash Drawer Report in Cloud
How to find and read the cash drawer report in Cloud: a per-till view of cash sales, floats, drops, and over/short for any date range.
๐ Overview
For locations running a cash drawer, Cloud shows every till that was opened or closed: the float it started with, the cash it took, and whether it balanced at close. Use it to reconcile a day, a week, or a month.
The report only appears for locations with a cash drawer enabled.
This is the back-office view. To see cash activity on the kiosk itself while a shift is running, use the tills list on the cashier screen instead.
๐ Finding the Report
In Cloud, open Cash Ledger in the left-hand menu. The page that opens is titled Cash Drawer Report.
The menu item and the page have different names. Look for Cash Ledger in the menu. There is no menu item called "Cash Drawer Report".
It works for a single location or a whole group, and opens on today. Use the date selector at the top right to change the range, and Export to download what you are looking at.
๐งฎ Reconciling a Day
Each row is one till. Each card along the top totals up the date range you have selected.
- Set the date range, then check the Tills w/ Variance card. If it reads 0, every till balanced and you are done.
- Otherwise, scan the Over/Short column for the rows that are not zero.
- On a till that is off, check Opening Float against what was actually put in the drawer, and Safe Drop, Paid In, and Paid Out against your receipts and vendor slips.
- Still stuck? Select the arrow at the start of that row to see every cash event on the till, in order, with timestamps.
You can also filter by status or kiosk, or search for a specific till or kiosk ID.
๐ The Money Columns
- Opening Float: What the cashier started the till with
- Cash Sales: Total taken in from cash sales
- Paid In / Paid Out: Cash added or removed outside of a sale, such as a float correction or a vendor payment
- Safe Drop: Cash moved from the drawer to the safe
- Expected Balance: What should be in the drawer, based on everything above
- Closing Balance: What the cashier counted at close
- Over/Short: The difference between the two
Till numbering restarts at 1 every business day, so a till ID is only unique within its own day and kiosk.
Most variances are a typing mistake, not missing cash. Check the Opening Float and the Closing Balance first.
A till that was never closed will not have an actual closing balance or an over/short figure, so it cannot be reconciled. Make closing the till part of every end-of-shift routine.
